Project Briefing:

Gumri field processing facilities PDOC phase # 2 project (Melut basin oil development in Sudan) is producing about 2,000 CuMD of produced water contains oils mixed in the water.

Client Requirements:

CPECC is the main contractor of Gumri field has asked AEs to provide the required facility to remove the oil from water. The water should be suitable after that to be used for injection process in the oil fields

AES Solution:

AES decided to use DAF technique (dissolved air flotation) in order to remove the major part of the enclosed oil, and that will be in the presence of compressed air and several dosing systems. After that the water will be subjected to filtration system using multiple layers from gravel, sand and anthracite. Further, the water will be sent to micron filters in order to guarantee the required quality

Conclusion and Results:

Oil level                                      < 50 ppm
TSS                                            < 10 ppm (4 micron diam)
Total Iron                                   < 0.5 ppm
Free CO2                                   < 10 ppm
Dissolved Oxygen level              < 0.05 ppm
Sulfate reducing bacterial          < 25 bacterium / ml
Iron bacteria                              < 1-10*104 bacterium / ml
Saprophytic bacteria                 < 1-10*104 bacterium / ml
